How do you set a limit on the amount slot of "explode" actor?

 I have sound level watcher hooked up to explode amount, but I need to limit it somehow so the amount doesn't shoot way up because the image becomes unrecognizable that way. How can I put a gate on it so the sound can't make the amount go up past a certain level?
