And why wouldn't the Capture Stage to Picture actor work for this application?

I'm also curious why the Capture Stage to Picture won't work. I successfully used it to capture ~600 stills from my live-feed operator's video stream during a performance last night.

        Best wishes,

Are you wondering how to set this up and make the instillation work or something else?

            Hi there all,

Let me clarify. I use my stages at the moment, and sadly I need to take 4 HD pictures at the same time. Since with the stage setup will cost quite a bit of stages I was wondering or you guys know a way to take a picture of a vid-gpu signal.

Perhaps I can create a bigger stage and put them next to each other ? I know about the Camera To Disk actor, and I was wondering or there was also a Camera To Picture variant 😉

Any advice regarding this would be helpfull 🙂

                  Hi,

It is included in the forthcoming 2.6 release. Should be available anytime soon.

                  Best wishes

I think the fact that members of the development team are openly discussing the new features suggests it is very close to being released for general access.

Personally, I'd love a Capture Camera to Picture actor, but I have a slightly different suggestion. Basically my dream is the Capture Stage to Picture, but with a GPU in instead of a Stage select. That way you could hook it up to anything at any stage of manipulation in your Patch (fresh feed from Video In Watcher, or a heavily-modified feed that's ready to go to a Projector Actor). I think it'd be more flexible than a Capture Camera to Picture actor, and I'd appreciate having it for when my Stages are maxed and I want to take pictures of something that's not necessarily on one of my stages.

                          Best wishes,

                          Woland

Great idea Woland. A GPU video signal and a trigger to take a picture would be great !

@woland Yep, this has been a feature request for years, I was surprised when it appeared it was stage focused not signal focused.

That would be a relatively easy request to fulfill, given that it's grabbing it off the GPU already. (I had also thought about the usefulness of this.)

I'll discuss with the team if we can include it in the final build of v2.6, given that it's a plugin and doesn't affect the main app which is far more dangerous.
