      Hi, I'm using the keyboard watcher for a button press. Sometimes people hold it to long which results in many button presses.

      How do I make a button push and hold only be only one push. So one has to let up and push again for the next trigger?
      Thanks

        Strange… more than ten years I use Isadora and it's the first time I see it!

        You must fill a bug report, but before I found a way to avoid it, see my patch using gate.

          you can fix that in the system preferences - keyboard setting - you can say how often a botton repeats a signal / trigger

            Both are great Ideas.

            I think I'll use the gate method.
            Thank you.

              @jhoepffner It is not an Isadora bug, it's the system that sends the value as long as you press the key.

              @craigw There is also the "Multi Blocker" actor to prevent multiple triggers in a defined time.

                Thanks, I just tried the Multiblocker, it works, but for me I prefer @jhoepffner gating way of doing it. It's so much faster.

                    I always use the keyboard actor with the option "up". This prevents the system repeats, because you only have one "up", no matter how long you stay on the button. And i think its nicer to wait on the right button (down) for the cue and just release the button. gunther

                      I also set 'direction' to up in the Keyboard watcher. Works perfectly for me.

                        @DusX

                        You are right concerning the safety, but sometime in theater or dance, when you need a very accurate reaction its better and more natural to use down.

                          true.
                          I guess, close a gate on down, and use up to open the gate again.
