      Hi,

Isadora HQ has leaked some news and a screengrab demonstrating the integration of native depth sensor skeleton tracking into Isadora3. It seems like a really great addition particularly with affordable depth sensor cameras around. Like a number of other Isadora users I have a few kinect in my kit (4) and they are mostly used tethered to 3rd party software for installation works that track gestures triggering interactive systems in Isadora. On occasion I have used the visual potential of depth-to-world point cloud again in 3rd party software and syphoned the video stream into Isadora. I do not know if there is a high demand for depth sensor point cloud output, however I am advocating that a point cloud manipulation system be considered by @mark to complement the skeleton motion tracking that has already been revealed these last days. I feel that a point cloud feature that leverages all of the existing functions and effects in Isadora would be a significant and exciting addition to the tool set.

Thank you for this fantastic suggestion! While it in not likely that we will be able to squeeze a point cloud feature into this release, we will keep it in mind for for future releases of the software.

        Best wishes,

I hear you. Would that entail simply converting the depth map into a point cloud video stream? Or are you talkinga about somehow providing the data in a form that Isadora can do something else with it. If you mean the former, we could create a plugin to do this after the v3 release.

Well, actually I was thinking more like a 3D mesh.
