[SOLVED] Transparent PNG files not transparent?

I added a transparent png file to the particle generator but the square does not disappear even when the 3 colours are selected as transparent in the actor.

I know this is a simple question but I don't have a simple answer!

First, it is the convention here in the forum to list your primary operating system, operating system version, and primary hardware (i.e., your computer) in your signature line? This saves those of the team from asking you...

What is your primary operating system, operating system version, and primary hardware?

(You can edit your signature by clicking on your icon at the top right and choosing "Edit Profile". Have a look at the profile of our moderator @Michel for an example.)

My apologies - of course this makes sense. I use MacBook Pros one with Catalina 10.15.5 and one with Mojave 10.14.6

I'll edit my signature asap.

This has been heavily tested and should work on all platforms.

Here's an example file with the transparent PNG downloaded from Wikipedia article about PNG files. Works totally as expected.

Maybe you should check that your PNG file is really transparent?
