      Dear all,

I am a newbie here 🙂 Just finished editing a video using Final Cut Pro X… I am struggling with which codec I should choose while exporting...
      I know that h264 isn't a good one for Isadora…
      What about the following:
      Apple ProRes 422
      Apple ProRes 422 (LT)
      Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy)
      Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2
      Uncompressed 10-bt 4:2:2
      HDV (18 Mbps)
The projector that I will be using isn't HD. So there's no point exporting it as a HD video, am I right?
Thank you so much for your time 😄
      I really appreciate it.
      Em x

I'm not sure on this. All go but the lightest of the prores seems to be the best no? Or lighter prores are more demanding on the microprocessor?

For sure uncompressed is very big and had disk can be a problem for multiple movies reading... I'd go for lt or proxy

ProRes 422 LT is OK with isadora. I usually reduce my FCPX projects to PhotoJPEG @ 75% quality just for old time's sake.

And yes you dont need to export your video HD> Actually it would be best to match the exact native resolution of your projector. I like plain proress 422.

                If…

I want absolutely no crash during the show + don't mind the quality too much… should I go with proxy and make it 480p?
                Thanks so much guys 🙂

You are best just matching the resolution of your projector.

I'v done text movies with livetype app and it's much better with native animation codec (25 fps) then convert in prores 422 (15 fps) or aic. I didn't expect this result.
