Will it still be possible to run 2 versions?
I now have multiple versions on my machine. When I tour with a show made in an older version I like to keep it in that version.

For example next year I'm still touring with a show made in 2.6.1 will I be able to run that show in 2.6.1 and make new shows in 3 on the same machine?

My problem is not now. I have multiple versions. My concern is, will it be possible in the future.

Maybe it is a language thing, Do I understand i correctly: V3 requires Mojave (so will not run on a lower operating system)

But V2.6.1 doesn't work on Mojave

So It is not possible to have both versions at the same time?

Isadora 3 is 64 bit and will be supported on MacOSX 10.12.x (Sierra), MacOSX 10.13.x (High Sierra), and MacOSX 10.14.x (Mojave).
Isadora 2 is 32 bit and is supported for MacOSX 10.10.x (Yosemite), MacOSX 10.11.x (El Capitan), MacOSX 10.12.x (Sierra), and MacOSX 10.13.x (High Sierra).

Preliminary tests by our team show that even though Mojave says it supports 32 bit applications, the changes that Apple has made for Mojave render Isadora 2 unusable on the new operating system.

It will be possible to have Isadora 2 and Isadora 3 on a computer if that computer is running MacOSX 10.12.x (Sierra) or MacOSX 10.13.x (High Sierra).

That is a relieve. I'll stay on High Sierra for a while.

                    @zedociel

There were severe playback issues when we tested Isadora 2 on Mojave that showed us that even if Isadora 2 ran fine on some Mojave machines, it would be entirely unusable on other Mojave machines. We don't know precisely which changes that were made by Apple have caused Isadora 2 to perform this way on Mojave but we've been too busy with the development of Isadora 3 to investigate it fully. In an ideal world, with a larger team, we would be able to ensure that both Isadora 2 and Isadora 3 perform well on Mojave but due to the fact that we need to focus our energy on Isadora 3 right now, it is not possible for us to spend the time rewriting Isadora 2 for Mojave.

                      Hi,

I'm a long-time Isadora user, from when we would exchange emails with Mark about problems we were having and he post a software fix for your issue. I had been using the same computer for about 6-8 years and my patch was working great so I never checked Troikatronix for updates or whatever. Finally my computer crashed and I bought a new mac and thought, "Great I will finally upgrade Isadora, I can't wait for the new features." After installing 2.6 and not being able to open it, I read that it doesn't work with Mojave. I can't uninstall Mojave because it's necessary for the other software I use, mainly the Adobe Cloud. I can't afford buying another computer form video processing so I'm stuck until Isadora 3 comes out. Is there any timeline for Isadora 3? Is there any beta versions available?

                      Thanks,
                      Antonio

There is another option for installing and using Isadora 2.6

You can create a small partition  (48-64gb) and install an older mac OS on that system (high sierra is fine).

It's not ideal, but it will bridge the time until Isadora 3.
