That's what I was wondering about... on one hand, a Friday/Saturday night means -- potentially -- we could extend into the early hours if things were cooking along. But in Berlin, well, that's party night too.

Fridays ( even the name of the day suggest itself: day of freedom ) is always fine with me : kids don't go to school on saturdays ...

I am out of Berlin (on tour) second half of October also.

Dear All,
Based not only on the responses here, but on the fact that I'm finding it difficult to organize an appropriate space, I'm going to need to move this to a later date than originally planned. It also seems a bit impossible to organize a date that works for everyone, so I'm just going to base it primarily on when I can get a space that works.
I'm now thinking the last week of October or first week of November.
As soon as I can confirm a date, I'll post it here. Hopefully in the next couple of days.
