Couple of questions.

Hi everybody,
I'm a newbie with Isadora and practicing with the demo version for about a month . I've been through all the mark's tutorials which are very helpful, but I still have a couple of general questions. Sorry if this questions has been already treated in the past._ Isadora is controllable via Dmx but is there any actors to send or receive Artnet protocol ( which is basically Dmx over ethernet) ?_ Can Isadora be synched with timecode (SMPTE or MTC) ?_ I use Isadora on a mac but I tried it on windows too, and I noticed that there's some actors ( 3D smoke for instance) which are not available on the mac version. Is there a reason for that ?Thanx for your answers. -
Hi, welcome to the forum.
_ Isadora is controllable via Dmx but is there any actors to send or receive Artnet protocol ( which is basically Dmx over ethernet) ?You can use Quartz Composer tools for artnet: [http://kineme.net/product/ArtNetTools](http://kineme.net/product/ArtNetTools)And to control DMX you need to use something like a LANBOX or ENTTEC; more info on the recommended page here: [http://troikatronix.com/support/recommended/](http://troikatronix.com/support/recommended/)_ Can Isadora be synched with timecode (SMPTE or MTC) ?You can sync them via OSC but not directly with SMPTE or MTC. There are a few custom MTC actors floating about but more for show control not timing in a linear fashion._ I use Isadora on a mac but I tried it on windows too, and I noticed that there's some actors ( 3D smoke for instance) which are not available on the mac version. Is there a reason for that ?Mac and PC use different frameworks and Mark does his upmost to keep them the same. 3D smoke isn't actually supposed to be publicly available I think it slipped through the net from one of Marks shows if its working then you are luckyCore Video actors are mac only and based around Quartz Composer which is mac only. You can't access them on Windows.Hope this helps for now -
Thanx for your answers. It did help.
