Activated background scene, using broadcaster/listener for video is my solution concerning global masking/mapping. But user actor stay a necessity to learn and use! Jacques

I'm interested to know what graphics card you are using? I've not seen this either.

What 3rd party ffgl plugins are unable to pass vid-gpu to an user actor?
This shouldn't be a limitation and needs testing.

There are a wide variety of methods that one could use to achieve this... and it will really depend on your show (setup time... requirements etc..)

If you have successfully been able to add a video texture to a 3d sphere in Isadora.. you are on a good path in my opinion. (this may take some doing as you need the sphere to be texture mapped in a specific manner to not loose video around the back side of the sphere) This method should give you true 3d warping. There is also the 3D mesh projector... and I believe that sphere mesh files are available for download (the manual has the wrong link currenlty: http://paulbourke.net/dome/warpplayer/) With Isadora 2, the 3D mesh is currently not my recommended option, since it renders direct to stage (using vid-cpu) and bypasses the option of using IzzyMap. Another option, that is dead easy.. but less exact would be to simple fish eye the video and mask to your sphere...

That's true, but screen capturing like that might affect the frame rate and thus the latency. Seems better to capture it with an external camera. Best Wishes, Mark

You seem enthusiastic, but we need more info on your setup, your use, what do you film, where do you project… Be more precise and it will be profitable for  other ones. On the iogeni website, I see only a remote for house devices. Thanks, Jacques

It's an often forgotten element. As you've probably worked out (but also for future readers of this post) If you have two types of video combing then isadora can either downscale one video source or upscale the other; or change both to the default resolution.

Sorry if my answer was misleadingly, i did it with the Blackmagic Decklink Quad and the Sonnet Echo Express.

I were measuring end to end (SDIcam-> Decklink Quad -> AMD FirePro D700-> TripleHead DP-Edition -> Kramer DVI- Network Extender-> Datapath-> Samsung Videowall) 5 to 6 Frames delay. It sounds a lot but it feels ok.

You can use external bluetooth switches supported by iOS' accessibility setup, and use that to manipulate touchOSC...

Yes as soon as you connect a projector or monitor you can avoid that problem.

The Avolite plugins are proprietary to their own media servers.  (I have been told this before by someone that works there). They were not made with the intention of joining the FFGL community of plugins.  Avolite make most of their money selling their hardware/software combos. If you get some of them working it is more likely to be a case of good luck rather than that there is something wrong with the ones that don't work.

thank you again @jhoepffner for sharing the arduino sketch.  i've modified it to work with the led strip and along with it have attached an isadora patch to play with the arduino.  

usable info online has been difficult to find so i share this for those who want to experiment with isadora and led strip control via arduino and osc.

@Maximortal is right. But to clarify what he said: Each slice in the mapper has parameters that can be "published" as an input to the projector. For example: 1) Add a new Movie Player and Projector. 2) Double click the Projector to create a new IzzyMap 3) You'll see there is a default "Rectangle" slice 4) Go to the output and resize this size, making it smaller 5) Right click the rectangle. From the menu choose "Publish Rectangle 1 : Offset X" Repeat this for "Offset Y." (As you can see, there are many other options, including the transparency, the rotation, etc.) 6) Close the Izzy Map editor 7) You'll see that the Projector has two new inputs: "Rectangle 1 : Offset X" and "Rectangle 1 : Offset Y." You can change these inputs to move the slice around horizontally and vertically. If you create a second slice, you can publish it's "Offset X" and "Offset Y" and move it independently. Maybe this allows you to do what you need to do. If not, let us know and we can help you further. Best Wishes, Mark

I am new to the world of video mapping, but I can try to help 🙂 I discovered a software called HeavyM (available on Mac & Windows) recently, it works really well and is very easy to use. The program is free on their page, but they're currently doing a Kickstarter campaign and I read they wish to add syphon and spout connectivity to the software. I'm not sure whether this might help you or not, but at least I tried 😛
