This is a NODEjs library. It requires NODEjs to run. See: https://nodejs.org/en/

(Basically nodejs is a webserver build around javascript.) This will not work directly in Isadora. However, you can set this up on your machine with NodeJS and communicate to it (since its a webserver) via TCP-IP. Basically you would build an API for your robotics as a NodeJS app, and send commands to it via TCP-IP from Isadora. This could be very cool.

hi Ryan, attached is a file which hopefully describes what i mean. It isn't a problem or anything like that. I am trying to figure out how i could use the java script actor and what are the possibilities to combine traditional with scripted with user actors. Concerning the partial return, it could be a shortcut for some circumstances.

just in case anybody is stumbling over non working javascript code, i tried to fill an Array with some 0. The js engine is based on google's v8 and they haven't yet caught up with more modern implementations…

What you are seing is an interpretation of perspective. You are working in a 3d space but what you see is in 2d...if the shape had shading you would understand that the top of the shape is closer to you then the bottom. Its still a square just viewed from and angle that makes it look otherwise.

Yes there will be a crash report but the writing close would be a bit nicer the crash :-).

The hide stages actor would also be a clever solution, with a pulse generator that triggers hide stages every second incase they toggle "show hide stages" by hand.

Thanks for sharing this example, such a clever use of the chopper to select specified areas of an image in order to produce a color value, to advance this I will take your suggestion and work with a 16x 8 palette for my test. The only part of the math that I am not entirely clear on is how the upscaling of the image to 1024X128 px rather than the original 512X128px to compensate for the 50% more color swatches, will affect the chopper horz/vert ctr limited ranges? If I am to double the width of my image I assume the horz ctr will change according too.. I'll play around with it today and feedback my results to the forum. Thanks again, Jaygo

Curious to know how well the TCPsyphon was working for you, as I can't get the Spout version going at all. Any suggestions or clues as to workflow would be appreciated.
I've used the Spout2NDI with some success, but there are some things that TCPSpout could do for me easily... if I could get it going!

Can you not just set the projectors to different layers, rather than changing the layering method?

Does your foreground have alpha?
