a chain of Matte++ actors (getting input through a Shapes actor that does nothing except to guarantee there is a video stream on all Matte++ inputs) allows to place different videos on any surface of the cube. Very versatile, perfect resolution. Could be done with a Shader I guess.

There is no Python in Isadora, only JavaScript. Processing with Python is not the best way! I recommend you to stay with "classical" Java Processing and use Syphon or Spout Libraries to send image to Isadora and OSCP5 to send OSC informations from Isadora to Processing. That works well. JS and Python Processing are more for teaching needs.

 It's a bug in v2.6... if you delete ALL your preferences files it will stop. This is fixed in v2.6.1.

The team did the last tests on v2.6.1 last night. If they all give me the OK today, I'll be releasing it shortly.

@fubbi It's because you have an instance of your broadcaster actor in the second scene which is resending the global value. If you remove this, it's working.

I’m aware of the limitations of the Kinect but because this is actually a college project I’m trying to see until where I can go with the equipment I have available and if after all I feel like I need to go further I’ll try and check other methods.

@fubbi  Cool thanks!  That config link is useful.  He's using the wii one, though... you can see the actual wii controller in the body of the device, he seems to have removed the door from the controller compartment which is also shmart.

Maybe I'll just get me a wii version...

@pienbiesma if the footage is pre recorded you may get better results keying the colour out in some kind of video or vfx program and then exporting a video with alpha.

Huge thanks! Getting bootcamp to work was great since I don't have a windows computer available.

Thanks for your help. Replacing the ID number with * did the trick perfectly. It is still a slow process to teach myself about Isadora features and there is a lot that I don't understand, but at least I can move on a little more quickly now that I don't have to setup the stream each and every time that I want to work. And I'm having fun learning the software. I hope that I'll be ready to use it in my teaching next fall.

Yes you can in version 2,6 - the latest build. There is an actor called capture to image.

@maximortal I use task sceduler and always up, alwaysup can monitor your application and restart it if it crashes, it has some utilities for waiting between actions.

It should be possible to do this with the data array actor.

I know that there is an example of doing this with Kinect Body data in the forum.

It should be possible using only a single text input, from the 'Matrix Value Receive' and record it via the Data Array.
