Jared Mezzocchi has been systematically exploring what Zoom and the editing program Isadora can offer theatre practitioners during the pandemic. He has been working in the field for over a decade and has explored it from multiple points of view—designer, director, playwright, artistic director. Hey, this is just a post about how great live streaming is with Izzy and OBS. I definitely owe it to Mark in Guru Session 10 for laying the foundation on the endless possibilities! I ran my first live stream with a kinect, a few old laptops using NDI on skype, and the Epoch Cam app on my phone to do a colorful feedback loop with performers virtually tuning in or being physically present. If you're reading this and you've done a live stream using Izzy can you drop a link below?

I am very happy that this is possible. I am planning a project that would use an outdoor setup with Kinects connected to a computer that provides OSC output(45 streams of floating point XYZ data at 30Hz). The connection to the internet and the receiving computer running Isadora would be through a wireless connection. My initial plan is to use 3 Kinects, producing 135 OSC streams. Anyone known if the setup through the internet could handle this much data? I have done this setup using the the two computers connected by ethernet cables through a router with no problem. Re-enable virtual camera support Support for virtual cameras will be re-enabled for users on client version 5.0.4.  

I can also confirm that it is load hungry coming out of Isadora using what appears to be about 30% of load resources.

As of now, no. I am focused back on the main Isadora app at the moment. If we can roll that into the fall release, we will. You can read more about our plans in this forum thread.

Many frameworks have support for Websockets now (not just JS as the article totes). Its been a web standard for a number of years.

I recently acquired a Blackmagic Design Web Presenter for a live streaming project.
It works perfectly as an input device for Isadora. It has two switchable video inputs, HDMI and SDI, with passthroughs for both, and an SDI PGM monitor out as well. Also RCA and XLR audio inputs.
It only outputs 720p, but gives a good, steady signal into Isadora via USB2.

It's rather more expensive than the other Blacmagic Capture devices, but its switchable dual inputs might be useful in certain situations.
Anyhow, it works, and I just wanted to share that with all you Isadorables.
