Having a similar problem except I disagree with the answer above. I have 2 firewire DV devices connected to a single bus.  Different models of camera, plugged into a firewire hub and then into the computer  QLab will happily display both of them though, so I can't see how its an inherent firewire design flaw.  Why can't Isadora show me both inputs?  Is there a work around other than buying some USB hardware? Thanks

yet another update: so something that started as a video capture glitch (still not resolved) has turned into an even bigger problem:

The live video feed shows a black picture unless the force aspect ratio is unticked in the live capture settings box.... this means that the resolution of the live feed is 720x576, and there is therefor a drag on the image. Needless to say that capturing has now an even bigger glitch and the video has an even greater drag....

The compression setting is jpeg.

I remember having a very similar problem last year that was resolved by ticking the Hardware Accelerated Rendering box....which I cannot find on this newer version. Does it make sense to uninstall and re-install and earlier version of Izzie for the time being?

So if I have a quartz composer patch running in Isadora, how often can I expect data to flow either way?

Say my Isadora patch is running at 30fps and I have a QC actor which is running a stopwatch within it, will the stopwatch update 30 times a second or is the timing independent from Isadora? And just to check, any data will be fed in/passed out of the quartz actor at 30fps (or whatever the frame rate is)?  With audio units presumably data is passed out (sample rate/buffer size) times a second - all audio happens at this rate within Isadora? but control data is passed in at Isadora's frame rate? Are any of these assumptions about right?

Hi Mark,

I'm sure I did have Load Save All Settings When Starting/Stopping Video Input turned on but I will double check; to be honest I created the patch on ym machine and transferred it over to the 'show' machine so perhaps its not selected. In the list it comes up with very possible combination of input size/format with PAL/NTSC; it seems PAL/NTSC are not separated. I will take a screen shot later. I am working on the machine later on today so I will see how it goes. Cheers.

Thanks, looks really interesting... some of the work produced with bagnoise's sampler (http://www.adt.org.au/proximity) seems quite spectacular. Some similarities with the Uncles & Angels show I have been working on, described in an earlier post, but I did not go via Quartz... looking forward to checking the looper out.
