      Maybe this device can give you a solution. It seems that several devices can be chained together and increase the number of screens.

      In the Release notes you find an explanation: https://support.troikatronix.c...
      Search the page for: Display Refresh Lock (ctl+f), to jump directly to the right point.

      Wow, you're right, actually, I'm using 3.0.8 on another computer, but on the one I was working I haven't notice I was on 3.0.7 !

      And the problem has disappeared with the new version, I obtained a perfect fade! And I realize on this occasion that the sound management is clearly improved in this version of the sound player ...

      Thank you very much, Hugh

      OK this one should work for you.

      You need to enter the frame rate manually (the other uses a new actor)

      @citizenjoe

      you can use the crop actor to divide your original picture and move it inside four projectors so you can use the 4 corner solution.

      original picture

      Then you place your monitors in a line and you have it.

      @thatmattrogers

      you can also look at https://ossia.io.

      they wrote about their program Score:

      A free, open-source, cross-platform intermedia sequencer for precise and flexible scripting of interactive scenarios.
      Control and score any OSC-compliant software or hardware: Max/MSP, PureData, openFrameworks, Processing…

      Nice work.

      I appreciate that you are wrapping it into a user actor. That's always the best approach in my mind, and makes it so much easier to use again in the future.

      1.There is an NDI watcher, again this is CPU decoded so there is a reasonable overhead.

      2. Generally no, the overhead comes from the capture process, what capture card are you using?  If you were using some cheap capture dongle that sends a compressed H264 stream you ***may get less overhead on one machine by sending NDI from a second, but at that point it would be a far from optimal setup and getting a proper capture device would be advisable. There are blackmagic cards that have 4 adn 8 inputs, AJA cards that have similar, Bluefish cards that also have multiple inputs.

      To do 7 HD inputs I would be looking at a threadripper machine and a beefy GPU like the 3080.

      I use JSON often to combine links into groups ad pass them around that way.
      See this article: https://support.troikatronix.c...
      The methods allows user actors to have a single input instead of many links, which can make complex patches much easier to work on.
