These are all very useful comments and I thanks you very much for the considered responses, partly based on your comments I have managed to persuade the gallery to take an alternative route as they dont have the dome built and I only have one week to produce the work for it.

I think we'll go for a curved surface made from 8 flats, I'll map the projection through syphon into mad-mapper or if I have time map it straight from Izzy. As artists we must make some firm decisions based on fact and what is achievable in given time frames. thanks again bob

Basically, you have this gray-scale image which is your alpha channel (black stands for transparent - white for opaque - gray-levels for everything which is in-between) and your fill. You need both of the signals for alpha keying with a mixer. All of the recent Panasonic mixers and switchers can do. With other brands I am not really familiar, but any broadcast mixer should be able to do so.

For what it is worth, the limitations regarding publishing inputs and outputs are based on what is made available by the [QCRenderer API](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/GraphicsImaging/Reference/QuartzFramework/Classes/QCRenderer_Class/Reference/Reference.html) provided by Apple. It does not allow you to "see" anything deeper than the highest level. If patches don't work in Isadora, my suspicion is that it is a limitation of QCRenderer. But I don't see why nested macros shouldn't work -- one question: if you have a free running QC patch with a billboard as the endpoint, and you open it in QuickTime player, does it work? QuickTime player is more than likely using the same API that I'm using. That would be a useful test. Best Wishes, Mark

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't the point of Real Studio that it is its own development environment? Other than that, MAX/MSP/Jitter will produce standalones but they are not compiled applications so, while they will mostly behave like one, you wouldn't be able to import them into some other development environment for further development. This forum probably isn't going to be the best source of information on software development and we definitely can't give much in the way of useful suggestions without more information on what you are actually trying to achieve. Perhaps a good start would be to write several informative sentences that actually outline what your goals are with this project in lieu of a bunch of separate grammar-less sentence fragments.

I'm stuck on configuring the midi player to play on the stage.

I would like to have the midi player visible so  it will be able to play midi files when someone "drags and drops" the midi file on the player. Is that "do-able"? Thanks for your time and advice. Below is my graphic to help with understanding

To follow-up on Mark's post -- I was able to do some capture tests of 3 streams a few months ago with the same deck link quad card and had somewhat mixed results. With 3 streams I would see a significant number of dropped or duplicated frames, and/or bad artifacts.

I don't have the quad handy currently but I'd be happy to pass my test notes on to Mark in case recent changes in izzy may have helped out with the dropped frame issue.
