I get no noticeable delay from using the extenders (ie less than one frame).

Even though some extenders say HD they do not support the full bandwidth so you will find that the extenders that use a single RJ45 cable maybe able to send 1080i50 but not 1080p50 (as it is double the bandwidth). There are some of the high end extenders that can do the full res in one cable but they are expensive, some have a remote system where only one of the boxes needs power (2x RJ45) and some can do a lot of high resolutions (2x RJ45). There is no standard and these boxes do not convert to and from a standard so the sender of one company will not work with the receiver of another. There are a lot on the market (HDMI over RJ45), but you need to check and test to find the one you like. HDMI to SDI on the other hand is a standard and although it technically does less (in terms of non SMPTE resolutions), IMHO it is a much better way to go.

Is Trim necessary? It depends on what you read and I've certainly read accounts of SSDs getting very slow over time without TRIM and Crucial's advice is to have it enabled despite their drives have Garbage Collection built in. So with something so easy to do I wouldn't hesitate and enable TRIM. All Apple flash drives have it enabled by default so they see it as a positive so I guess it can only help. Paz, The super quick boot times and application loads soon become the norm so never go back to a computer with spinning disks, it feels like there's something wrong it.

I am currently running one Intensity Shuttle and one Ultrastudio SDI, one capturing composite SD and the other capturing HD SDI.  Both are using USB 3.0 and I'm having no bandwidth issues.  It does seem to affect some other USB devices, such as my Enttec and my Matrox triplehead though, but I am wondering if that is some sort of driver conflict rather than bandwidth.

I am using a mid-2012 non-retina Macbook Pro. Craig

I love my MacBook Pro Retina. Mine is 3 years old now but still works great. The dual thunderbolt ports are brilliant but do require a load more cables and adopters!

They are great products but the settings are nightmare. I have a 7750 eyefinity board and am using all 6 miniDP to VGA outputs at 1024x768 . It was working mostly ok until I figured that I had to make it run at x16 link instead of 8x. It has been running nice and smooth ever since. with catalyst 15.9.1 Beta. I know the matrox moards use the AMD chips but I don't know more about the software or issues.

I have been using ATEM for a few years, great stuff, no scalers on inputs so all input resolutions and frame-rates must match- it still gives you one input at a time (if you use it to feed a capture card).

The USB 3 capture built in to the old 2/me is not worth using and the ATEM television studio USB 2 is h264 encoded and cant be used for capture.- you will need another capture device There is a an ATEM osc bridge that works with late but not latest firmware versions, the atem is a mixer and will not get you 3 simultaneous cameras, the tv studio model also does not have aux outputs so if you use it as mixer for your outputs you have no aux feed for your capture box. https://github.com/danielbuechele/atemOSC Your original question asked about 3 cameras into izzy- this does not help for simultaneous capture you though so it is unclear what you are after. If you only need one camera at a time then you have lots of options and dont need 3 inputs just some kind of switcher- as in the other thread knowing if you have to have smooth transitions between cameras with effects changes the requirements. For simultaneous inputs the other thread has some info, but there is nothing that will really work for gen 1 thunderbolt, apart from a quad split device running to an HD capture input. Your USB 3 is the only option to keep an output free for the projector. The blackmagic clean switch router is another solution that can help you. Depending on what you see in your future for hardware you may be better of looking at other solutions as the cost of all these little bits will add up. Some more info about your use case can help. i use a little snap on lens for my ipod4  which is a sort of "wide angle extension" and then get it via syphon into isadora ( with epocam)

glad to know that i'm not paranod, just zealous!  🙂 at moment with setup in signature and firmware 4.8 i got no problem. (not at all, for examples if i connect a regular console to dmx in and at the same time i use isadora on dmx 1 out i encounter some glitches, but i have to investigate more about that usig other software like qlc + and so on)

btw anyone knows why isadora can see just universe one?
