Sad news. As in many of these projects, another one fell because of the lack of funding.
Well, if anyone is going to explore Active RFID's, I would be happy to share what I found.
Thank you all for your comments.
I got the device and was not able to connect to Izzy.
It was able to get it to the computer, say I movie HD for example, but the delay was of about 3 seconds.
I am using a Mac laptop i7 with Thunderbolt.
Fred, Black magic is true magic.
I got an active 100ft HD extender and connecting directly to the HD projector gave me an amazing quality.
Next step, Blackmagic.
Very helpful responses. Thanks to both of you. Sort of intrigued by the standalone boxes and the budget is pushing me in that direction as well. Also, the image doesn't really need to be continuous and synched over most of the outputs. Many of them could just be DVDs looping while a few key screens are controlled by a computer.
Syncstarter project is _very_ interesting. I am wondering if there's a way that could be triggered over LAN via Isadora?
Also in the running, seeing what rental houses have composite Wall controllers in their trash bins ;-). I doubt these SD monitors even have current inputs like DVI. Might do 640x480 over BNC or D-Sub. Will see.
Thanks again.

Well, for future reference, when you do that, it's attempting to execute the actors in the scene 150 times per second. That's really not advisable, as you may incur extra, unnecessary overhead. It may push the machine to a somewhat higher frame rate, but if you have it set to 30 and you're not getting 30, then there's something else amiss that needs to be looked into.
Sorry if it is too much off topic. I am looking for a wide angle walkable projection screen solution. The best one I've seen was in the Met's Ring Cycle whereby the projection surface did not seem to change the reflectivity regardless of an projection angle, and was very much walkable.
Thanks a lot for the answer. It brings some enlightement to my understanding of the whole process. It wasn't about the connection, but really about the acceleration part, so I got my answer.
Says that it can support up to two external displays but I'm sure someone will get all three outputs working at some points.
Two thunderbolt outputs connected to two matrix cards.... WOWZER! Screen mayhem!
Can't believe it comes with a SSD and can have 16gig or Ram in a 3.3Ghz (turbo boosted).... time to save save save!
To echo Michel's comment, I would love a full frame sensor. That said, getting one on at this price point given all the other features they have included isn't really going to happen at this point in time but I would expect something bigger than their sub micro-4/3 sensor size. I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect something more along the lines of an APS-C sized chip for $3k.
Hopefully this includes a redesign of the case in addition to a bump in the specs. I would love to see the case shorten by a few inches so it can fit horizontally in a 19" rack without cutting off the legs/handles. The road case options for the current Mac Pro are still pretty unsatisfying and hopefully something new will be more conveniently dimensioned.
