I ended up sending a  feed from an HD Digital Video Recorder into a Canopus ADVC 110 instead of using the Blackmagic. Works like a charm.

I made a sketch in Processing that works (almost). I had some help in troubleshooting because the image class is used in both leap motion and spout so processing was getting confused.

There is some problem however where the sketch runs fine but the executed executable does not. I will see if I can figure it out.

I have the Triple DP edition running off my 17 inch MBP. I have two sets of adaptors: one for VGA and one set for HDMI. Works very well for me.

FYI, the show I mentioned above was only 60 minutes, but since i was doing a a sort of "live edit" at the end, sync didn't matter. (The audience never saw the live feed.)

I have a Canopus ADVC-110, which is essentially the same but doesn't require a power supply. Isadora 2.0 works with this unit. Check these things: 1) There are some dip switches on the bottom. Make sure your unit is set to the proper format: NTSC or PAL. 2) Make sure that the "Analog In" light is on... you need to press the "Input Select" button to ensure this. 3) If the red LED is solid, I think you're good. 4) Note: you can set the "Power On Input Mode" so that it defaults to analog the DIP switches  5) Link  to the manual: https://finearts.uvic.ca/sim/equipment/manuals/_av_convert/advc100.pdf Best Wishes, Mark

PS. I highly recommend using HAP for your video codes. .. This will free up your cPu ( it does require fast data transfer.. ssd recommended ) . Using wmv files does a good job distributing to all cores ( via directshow ) however with a few hd clips even a i7 cpu will be overloaded pretty fast. With HAP and a SSD I can easily run 6 X 1080p clips without impacting isadoras' processing at all. ( with a fast modern video card )

The 12 core could end up being the slowest option for you depending on your intended use.

What other uses will your new Mac Pro have? If you are using it to generate content for Izzy i.e. 3D renderings then I'd steer you in the direction of the 8 or 12 core where the extra power of the CPUs would be of benefit. The 6 core will be ample for Izzy and other VJ apps as so much more work can be sent to the GPUs and this is only going to increase in the future. TBH the top iMac fully upgraded probably offers similar performance to the 6 core and much better value. Only 1 GPU but I doubt you'll notice for playback of Izzy projects. I have no doubt the iMac would show my old 12 core Mac Pro a clean pair of heals for most things other than rendering out from Cinema 4D. HTH.

I used this Lanbox LCX for a stage show with my Beatles Tribute band for years, to great effect.  I used Isadora for a video screen, simultaneously sending dmx signals to the LanBox, which changed pre-choreographed lighting cues just by hitting the spacebar on a laptop.  Izzy and the Lanbox LCX are perfect companions!  The band is no longer, so I have no more use for this unit. Includes the LanBox-LCX, power supply (U.S.), and dmx 5 pin to 3 pin adapter. LcEdit software and manuals are available on the lanbox website.

Ok here is a quick and dirty solution it has problems but I dont think I will have time to make a better solution for a few weeks- here goes.

You will not see anything at first, my GUI tools a broken and I need to repair them, the initial values are all invalid, but the OSC values all work and can fix it, this means you will not see anything until you set some settings via OSC- you will need to do this for every camera (contrast is the one that will bring an image). The GUI stuff is there but not saving or reloading- I need to fix this for other projects so I will sort it out. In the meantime I hope this helps you out. Fred

@nick one annoying problem is the Orbit does not send velocity out so if red is say "55" it doesn't tell you; so I need to go through every colour and work them all out. Just going to take a bit of time.

@ovrarrest - depends WHICH rMBP you've got. If memory serves, only the ones with nVidia GPU can drive all 3 outputs at once - the regular IRIS only chipset rMBPs can only drive 2. (I could be wrong tho).

Yep, Vidock works on OSX with graphics cards, and their are single graphics cards out there that have up to 6x native outputs built in... therefore you could run 12x with 2 such cards in a ViDock - you just need to hunt further when it comes to the choice of graphics card.

Thanks guys, my idea for now was to run all my patches on my laptop (the stuff I do seems to run fine on my 4 years old macbook pro) and then use this new pc to do mostly capturing and assembling in Final Cut / After Effect. I'm not sure if a GFX card is really important for this or if I could just spend my money on the Intensity and then get a GFX card if I start doing real time video on this new PC.  If FC and AE don't rely much on the Graphic Card but mostly have to do with RAM and CPU then it might be a good idea to hold on until I really need one.

iam planing an upcomming multichannel videoi/audio- installation with 9-10 full HD projections (each has sound)...i would like to buy 2 macpro 2013 (each has to run 4-5 1920x1080 pro res 422 mov.files and audi via motu traveler) - all has to run in sync as a loop (MTC movie locker) -crossfades to other 4-5 mov.files should be possible without glitches (but not nessesary until now) i would go for thunderbold to VGA adaptation as i have heard than no activ dvi adapter are nessesary and i can just run 4-5 times fullhd bei vga signal out of one machine.... iam wondering if there is anybody which has experience with a simlar setup and can give me some hints for the best configurated macpro which fits my budget of round aboute 8000.00€ - i would use the new izzy 2 beta with the new movie player gpu possibilites
in this case for instance make it more sense to buy a machine with just a quad core processor but the 3gb graphiccards or better to go for the 6 core with just 2gb graficcard and maybe more ram instead? ...and so on (256gb ssd is enough)

Thanks Unfenswinger. I found some old stock at a dealer today, but no i7's available. I ended up with a 2012 i5 2.5 GHz, 8 gigs of RAM and a 256 SSD. I have Mavericks OSX installed. It's a huge step up from my late 2009 MacBook Pro.

At least I'll be able to add more RAM and switch out the hard drive.

Thanks for the advice. The problem is that I need the camera to stand alone, to be angled correctly and possibly zoom out. Will the cable from the camera to the laptop be long enough? Will it be possible to angle the webcam? And zoom?

Hi Craig, I dont know of anything commercially available yet. But no doubt at least ten different people are currently working on it! 😉 
Rob Scharein can probably write an app for this. Are you in Vancouver? As per Rainbow's comment.. would be great if your choreographer could offer a little budget for a custom solution maybe?
