These are 7-channel DMX fixtures.. so each light will require 7 channels to be independently controlled.
So if you set Light 1 to reference a DMX channel of 1, Light 2 needs to be set to 8, and light 3 needs to be set to 15, etc...
I suspect your issue is related to addressing your lights. Juriaans patch requires that you can set the Start Channel for each light fixture.

@juriaan thank you for your detailed response! It's great to follow your workflow and suggestions. The theatre that I work in has an ETC EOS GIO @5 and a ETC Gadget II so I will take a look at connecting this up with Isadora in the first instance.

@dusx quick question, I’ve got a wireless artnet setup working with an entec Ethernet to dmx converter using an iPad using the lumiair app as a light desk .Could this actor work with this type of setup by substituting the iPad control for isadora? 
I've a feeling I’m over simplifying the process once again.

@laurentr I like this method. One little trick to get around the 'percentage' rather than 'real time' output is to use an Envelope Generator++ and set the final value to the same number as your 'time'. That gives you seconds as an output:

I think I'm right in saying the difference between a standard Envelope Generator and an Envelope Generator++ is the '++' version outputs values between Min-Max rather than 0-100. Very useful for negative numbers and when you want to 'see-what-you-get' without invisible scaling happening.

If I made what you propose, the lamp flash randomly. But I don't understand why or what happen with this change. I don't have the same fixture and for my test I don't use this patch. I have a Botex Dimmer with 4 sockets. In one sockte I have a normal office  lamp)it could be also a motor) and I use the simple patch I sent you- With this patch I get also randomly flash of the lamp and a randomly flashing of the 4 channel on the dimmer but so what…

I think I will buy another USB DMX. I read here (unfortunately only in german) https://wiki-de.dmxcontrol-pro... that there is two sorts of usb Dongle: activ and passiv. Activ are better and use the DMX USB Pro protocol but I have a passive using the open DMX USB protocol. A problem is that information (active or passiv) seems to be a secret and cannot be find in the product descritions.

Thank you for your help but I think I let it with my workaround or a new dongle. To bad, I found it was a good solution for students because the interface was very cheap and convenient for small project or test.

i ve saw you have an answer but because , one question has often many answer , I would know if it could possible to use user actor ? 

Build your user actor as you builded your first scene , then past that user actor in each scene that you need it . Then each time you need ( new show ?)  Change the value in the user actor in the first scene and when close the user actor , select update all . 

It will work , no ?

Most Izzy users use an Enttec DMX USB Pro giving you 512 channels of data to work with, and if you have the drivers correctly installed it works quite well 😉

1) How to setup the hardware 

You will need the following hardware :

  Dimmerpacks DMX cable (Check the input of the Dimmerpacks and the output pins of your Enttec. If they are the same you are golden, if not you need an plug to convert 5 to 3 or the other way around) Enttec DMX USB Pro Izzy on a Windows / Mac computer

Set the hardware address of the dimmerpack (DMX start), some dimmers have an little menu for that, others have dipswitches. Look up the manual and sometimes a power reset is required for the settings to take effect (learned this the hard way)

Connect the computer to the Enttec using the USB cable provided. Connect the DMX cable to the OUTPUT of the Enttec and connect the other end of the cable to the INPUT of the Dimmerpack (not the output or thru)

2) Are there particular configurations in Isadora? Is there a patch or an actor that I should be aware of?

3) Will this help me control fading and looping of all these lighting channels? How? If not, what will I be able to control?

Yeah, with above actor you can output the desired data, what is required from you is that you create the patch to make the values loop. You can do this quite easily with Enveloppe Generators++ and sequential triggers.

Just want to add to this ticket so that the solution is included.

After investigating the ticket, I found that an actor within the Enttec User Actor was experiencing a bug related to initial value parsing.
This bug is confirmed fixed for the upcoming 3.0.3 release, and the Enttec DMX User Actors I have posted to the Plugins Page are not affected by this issue in the current release.

You can also buy an Isadora 7-day Rental License on the online store (fairly cheap) so that you can experiment and save your work in the short-term (instead of working in demo mode and being unable to save your experiments until after you buy a full license).

@fubbi great !! No more driver nightmare for DMX !!! Thank you a thousand times. Also because with Sonoma arriving I was worried that would cause DMX nightmare.

I've got a eDMX2pro from DMXKing and i'm very happy. The device has two ports and each one can be configured as input or output.

I fixed the problem -  I tried Qlab a it "hold me" that there were two files in my library that i should delete to make the DMX USB PRO interface work agin i did and it worked ... 

It was this two...

 - D2xxHelper.kext

- FTDIKext.kext
