Do you mean the UI settings in preferences? If I double click on the actor itself, I only get colour options for the background.

Ah! I just figured it out! I was unaware of that option!! Fantastic.

I'd still love to be able to right-click on the actor and select the font panel.

It possible to use 3D line segments to create drawings. 
In this tutorial I use a 2D line actor, but its the same process to use a 3D line actor.

Draw with line segments.

Hi,

my first feature request, exciting.

Tired of placing 'trigger value 0' and 'trigger value 1' aside a 'Gate' to handle triggers from numerous directions,

where 'Toggle' only causes confusion, I made this little user actor

and discovered that a mutable input of an actor is no more mutable if connected to a 'User Input' inside a 'User Actor', althought set to 'Match Property'.

Any green dots for user actors available?

I had an Isadora dream last night. (in my defense: yesterday was the premiere of a new show - I've been mentoring the artists and they're using Izzy to run the video (2 projectors), sound, and lighting for everything, so it's been a pretty Izzy-heavy week) Anyway, in my dream I was able to add stuff from the control menu directly into the patch window.

this got me thinking: would it be a useful feature if user actors could be directly appended with control elements? where the little icon would be on a regular actor? the function could be the same, using control ID numbers, or maybe there's a special way of linking the control to the actor inside the user actor - this way the user actor could be re-used in different patches without ID conflict.

this would make it possible for an actor to display a monitor of what's going on inside it, kind of like the Eyes actors. or a switch/selector/slider/dial that could be a little clearer than clicking and dragging the green dot on an input.

I often operate shows directly from the scene window, and I think this functionality would really help.

(i mentioned a feature request on here a while ago where control elements could be free-floating in their own windows, rather than fixed in the control panel window, but this is slightly different in that the control could become integral to a user actor.)

Well, the Windows tool graphedt.exe is a developer tool that allows you to visualize a movie playback graph.

32 bit Version

When I run the 32-bit version, and select a NotchLC encoded AVI with the command File > Render Media File..., I see this and I can press the play button and the movie plays.

64 bit Version

When I try the same in the 64 bit version of graphedt.exe, I see this error:

Note that there is a stream for rendering audio, but none for video. This would seem to prove that NotchLC drivers are not 64 bit compatible. And that means Isadora, which is a 64 bit app, can't play it either.

If you examine Windows Media Player, I am quite sure it is a 32 bit app and that's why it can play the files.

FYI:  It's a bit of a big ask because then we have to be able to update that file name in the 3DS file and write it out. Isadora knows how to read those files, but I have no equivalent code to write them.

For the moment you can expect that you'll need to change those files in a program designed to open, edit and modify 3D files.

 Yes, that is the case. Currently we do not have a method of tracking versions of user actors. This is something we have discussed, I will make sure it's in the feature requests tracker for further discussion.

It would be great if you could define a list of text items that become an integer index in the User Input and User Output actors. This would allow selections in a manner similar to the 'blend' mode of the Projector actor, or the 'type' input of the OSC Listener actor.

At this moment we can only import 3d models with a 3ds extensions. I know that there are efforts to include other extensions too. Can we look forward to the possibility to import .obj files in the near future?

And the next step: Importing 3ds starts to get buggy if you try to work with files with more then 32.something faces. (I experimented a lot with that.)  Lost textures in single faces all around the model. Can we look forward to an increase of this number, cause 32.000 isn't that many in these days.
