i had some problems embeding 6 channels of audio in to an quicktimefile - than the sounddesigner gave me an 5.1 audiofile - i added it in quicktime pro 7 under the 9600x1080 video (pro res lt) and i was surprised that isadora can play this with AV Foundation and send the 5.1 directly to the motu interface - without any routing (in the player and also not in the sound output settings) - i think maybe  because 5.1 is an audio standard like Stereo...it runs all very smooth and in sync on an Mac Pro 2013...

This is a bug. I recently encountered something similar. Please submit a bug report and we can try to narrow down the cause. http://troikatronix.com/support/isadora/ If it helps for this project, you can switch your audio to MP3 files and they should play without issue (uses QuickTime for playback, and doesn't have this bug).

It could have been the Z value in the virtual stage maybe?

Guys, I think I found the culprit.
Videofiles supposed to be native ProResLT 1280 x 720 files, were 12.. x 7.. real size (some fancy resolution,I don't remember replaced files) and 1280 x 720 display size. I don't know how I managed to do such things when I exported my medias (shame on me).

So it seems that when movies aren't the same resolution as Isadora's default, rendering is much less efficient (AVFoundation).
Now, it's almost perfect !

May not be the reason at all but it sounds a bit like a problem I meet when using Max4Live and edit the device using OSC in Max. When you go back to Live, the Port isn't released and I have to quit Max to get it working again.The situation is obviously different but the port release may not happen

Ok I can confirm the conditions for this, use a matrox or data path have stages that are hash is a third of the output, then you can quite easily lose the points completely and also just have them not respond. This happens on the overlap area, but not the edges. When the points are hand visible you can regain access by moving the points on the edge, but if they are no longer visible there is no easy to get them back.

Sorry, I wasn't clear about the update actor. As I sad, I can't check it now, because of lack of a computer, but I remember the introduction of an actor that marks the user actor it is placed in, as 'changed' or 'updated', forcing it to prompt the dialogue for save or update all instances of this user actors, the moment you close it. This worked like forcing the 'save dialogue box' even if nothing was changed in the user actor. Best Dill

The fill white in the stage setup is not affected by the blend, this has little use if it does not get affected by the blend. If it is affected it is a great tool as white blends are the hardest to get right and this is in the perfect spot, I am guessing that is what it is for.

I can confirm that in 2.4.5b20 on OSX the edge curvature with use sharpness gamma curve has no effect on the blend only the normal blend modes have an effect.

After two week of using v.2.4.5(I mean last version), hangs are dissappear! Even when I use mov with mp4 codec, Isadora works great!

Hi Jacques, thanks a lot for your comments. It is always good to know that other people share the same problem, as you say I feel less alone 🙂
I've tried already to reboot the computer and it doesn't solve the problem. I have also tried to start isadora straight after reboot, doing nothing in between, and it still doesn't work.

The only solution I see so far is to try on another computer with a new installation of windows 7 (and not windows 10), and installing only the minimum software : isadora, quicktime, and driver for intensity.

the blackmagic media Express software works fine so I don't think there is another software in competition for the video ressource. But I will try on a new windows installation to get better chance of succes.

It is good to hear that the Intensity should be compatible with Izzy. Do you remember the configuration ? Was it windows 7 ou 10 ?
Which version os Isadora were you using ? Thanks !

If you double click the eye of the Projector, you can activate the 3D settings. This essentially makes the video render on a 3D plane. And all the 3D features are available to turn on as well. If you need to process after, you can use a 3D projector, and render to a virtual stage for further processing. Both options give you a plan to work on.

Maybe it's because you have only one !

As you said DusX, connecting two usb WebCams on the same port isn't stable.
My solution is to "create" a third USB3 port on the Macbook with a thunderbolt-USB3 adapter.
