HELLOOOO!
Does anyone know if it's possible to trigger my Canon EOS250D from Isadora? I connect to my camera's WiFi and can use the EOS Utility to fire the shutter and download images to a folder on my Mac, and I can then set Isadora to import images from this folder.
But ideally, i would use Isadora to send the trigger signal to the EOS Utility, so I can be on stage, manipulating lighting at the same time...
Any ideas???
Hi guys! I'm a newbie who is currently taking interactive video class. I've been exploring Isadora software and been watching tutorial videos but I'm still confused how can I accomplish the video that I want to work on.
I was planning to use openNI tracker and a projection on floor. I want to make it interactive by making/causing ripples underneath people's feet as they walk around the floor (water projection). And it'd be awesome if I also could add water sound as people walk around the water projection...
I've been trying to work on this but I have no idea how could I accomplish this... if anyone could assist or help me in anyway, it would be very appreciated ;-;
Sincerely...
Looking for the best video playback.
We have all the short films downloaded on a pc. We need to put each group of films in separate 1.5 hour film blocks, then export these large files to a thumb drive. With the thumb drive, we can then play the films on the screen throughout the day in order.
What is the best video playback and best software to export to a thumb drive, so we can play offine on a laptop? Looking for the best option.
Thank you!
Dear Izzy Community,
I am working on a thesis project, and I keep loosing the texture of 3D objects inside of Izzy.
I have been using MetaScan to create OBJ files of rock climbing holds. From there, I import the files into 3DS Max to re-export it as a 3DS file.
I'm working on a MacOS Catalina 2.3GHz 8-Core Intel Coe i9 with Izzy 3.2.6, and I've also attempted this on a Windows PC (same issues).
Here are my settings in 3DS Max, but I've also tried multiple additional settings:
I also tried MeshLab2022.02, and I have run into the same problems.
Here is how I've been organizing the files inside the same folder:
Here is my patch:
Any ideas?
Much appreciated!
Sincerely,
Ellen
Firstly, I'm a beginner with Isadora.
I'm working on a project where I use a midi keyboard (MPK Mini mk3 MIDI Controller). When you hold a key, a sound and a video starts playing, and when you release the key it stops. I use 25 keys and 8 (drum)pads in this Midi controller. This worked in the beginning.
Now I'm working on getting all the sound files in the right rhythm. I've exported al music sound samples in a 4/4 beat and 130bpm, 44,1khz and 24 bit. The length varies from like 8 seconds to a few with 44 seconds. I made the project so that all the sounds are actively playing and when you hold a key, the volume goes up (and down to 0 when you release)
To ensure that the sound al start at the same time I use 2 keyboard watchers to 'stop' en 'start' all the sounds in the Isadora file. With 's' I can make all the sounds stop, but when I press 'a' only a few of the sounds will start/become active.
As a test I've tried to add one key with the keyboard watcher and then scaled up, where I noticed it started to glitch/bug after using 16 (a & s) keyboard watchers.
I've already tried to downscale the sounds to make it less heavy, from 32 bit to 24 bit, but this did not change the amount of keyboard watchers not working.
Does anyone have some tips on how to fix it?
Hello,
I'm making a project that is sending Eyes++ data to Maxmsp to create sound. I run Maxmsp and generate data in there to control Izzy scenes. However, I need Izzy Eyes++ data to drive sound in Maxmsp. What's the best practice to use secondary scenes in Izzy so that the Eyes++ data flow stays constant even when Maxmsp is switching through other scenes?
Thank you,
Scott

Hi there,
The title basically explains the issue.
The drop down menu from the SPEAK TEXT actor only offers this three options: "default, Microsoft Zira Desktop - English (United States), or Microsoft Helena Desktop - Spanish (Spain)"
However the system has several other TTS languages installed, that are availble for example on the windows narrator option.
Is there a way to make those available to ISADORA as well?
Alternatively how can I add other spoken languages to be used with the SPEAK TEXT actor?
Thank you,
Gaspar
Hello Hivemind,
I'm wondering if it is possible to remotely build a stage mask using the dimensions provided in a design draft?
I am projecting onto a stretched fabric Arch as part of a ceremony and have a very limited amount of time for install and set up.
I have a detailed draft of the surface and would love to have the mask built before we install. I unfortunately don't have use of a projector until we are installed also.
Any tips on how to best prep for this are greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Hello!
Looking for advice/opinions/experiences with Apple Desktops/Mini M# for a university computer lab. I am the Digital and Intermedia Dance Lecturer in the Department of Dance at Ohio State University and we have a dance media lab for classes and student work where the students do basic computing but also heavy video editing/processing and Isadora patching and we are having LOTS of issues. Half of the lab has 2017 iMac (6-core, radeon pro 570x graphics, 16 gb memory) and the other half have 2021 iMac (M1 chip, 8 core, 16bg memory) and the new Mac M1's work more poorly (freezing, lagging, etc.) than the old desktops. We replace the computers in this lab in waves due to budget constraints and I was not around when the new M1 batch was ordered previously as I am newer to this role.
We are due to replace the other half of the lab computers and I do not want to have a lab full of iMacM1’s with all the issues we are facing- has anyone had similar problems? I would love to outfit the lab with Mac Studios but that is not in the budget. Any suggestions on what we should be getting for this usage? Thinking about the Mac mini m2 pro but don’t have experience with it. We are a Mac lab so have to stay in that lane.
Thank you izzy community!

Hi all - working on a show that's using TouchDesigner piped through Isadora to project some particle systems and audio-reactive stuff. We've got TouchDesigner on a PC, and Isadora on a Mac, connected over Ethernet and sending/receiving NDI signals. Isadora's NDI watcher sees the NDI input from TouchDesigner, but my designer has multiple NDI outputs he'd like to send, and Isadora currently is only able to see one/whatever was last opened. He basically wants to cue through the different outputs in TouchDesigner, with each Izzy cue pulling from a different output. I will admit to not being as experienced with TouchDesigner, so I was wondering if there were something I could do on the Isadora end of things to make that possible - or if it's some programming that needs to happen within TD. Any advice would be much appreciated!
