Hello guys,
I m totally new to Isadora and have been trying some things. I have been trying to play 3 different videos with triggers but i dont know what actor to chose. The trigger has an identifying number that is supposed to activate the video play when triggered. Could you help me figure out what actor i should use to help me do that?
Thank you in advance guys!
I am using the TCP In Watcher - Text actor to receive a getStatusreply message from Dataton Watchout via TCP/IP control. My goal is to get the current timeline position in milliseconds as an integer, then perform simple arithmetic on that integer in order to scrub through the Watchout timeline using the Streamdeck+ rotary encoders and Bitfocus Companion.
I have successfully received the message using the following Parsing Pattern:
msg:string={00-FF}
This is the getStatusreply message I am receiving from Watchout:
Reply "test" false 0 true true false 86398999 true 0 false 21921314
What I want to do is extract "86398999" from the message so that I can manipulate it as an integer. This value represents the current timeline position in milliseconds, which ranges from a single digit (0) up to eight digits (86398999). Do I do this inside the TCP In Watchout - Text actor's Parsing Pattern or a different actor?
I've read the Decoding and Extracting Data Input Streams document, but I'm a bit lost on how to reach my goal.
Here are the parameters of the getStatusreply from Watchout:
<string> Filename - 1 to 256 characters
<bool> Busy - 4 or 5 characters
<uint> Health - 1 character
<bool> Full Screen - 4 or 5 characters
<bool> Show Active - 4 or 5 characters
<bool> Online - 4 or 5 characters
<uint> Current Time - 1 to 8 characters
<bool> Show is playing – 4 or 5 characters
[<float>] Timeline rate - 1 character
<bool> Standby - 4 or 5 characters

I can't quite get my head around this. Im coming back to Izzy after a long break and most of these solutions seem to be aimed at PC users. I tried the script edit thing as proposed by Jamie Griffith but didn't have any luck there. System is a Mac book pro with OS 13. something
Hi everyone,
Has anyone used Isadora in conjunction with Dante, specifically one with QLab? I'm in a new theatre where all AV is run through Dante, and I'm being told that there are no alternatives, but there have been issues in the past of integrating Dante with other software. I'm personally not familiar with Dante at all. Do you have any experience or tutorials related to that?
Thanks in advance!
Another relatively small one and a little tricky to describe, but I was wondering if an option to keep the current scene centred in the window would be a good feature.
Then when jumping, and crossfading to the next scene everything slides down meaning the 'active' scene is always in the middle. During big shows I find the 'active/current' scene is tucked far right and I forget/can't see whats coming up. I had nearly 100 scenes in a recent gig. Then I find my self anxious to click and scroll forwards incase I accidentally click a scene. Hope this makes sense to those reading.
A small one (I think) but I had a show at the weekend where colour-coded scene backgrounds would have been ideal.
The scene names are good - but I could have really benefitted from changing some of them to red, blu, green, etc to indicate to me if 1) the scene had audio 2) if it was live feed 3) if it was interactive, etc... As a "visual" person, this would be great and I think a nice feature for everyone.
I imagine a right-click on a scene and a basic colour picker would be good.
Hi all,
I'm just playing around with the fantastic DusX DMX Universe actor. I have the demo file and it all works great with an Enttec usb pro and simple LED Par Can. However if i try to create a fresh Isadora file and bring in a matrix value send and DMX Universe actor from scratch, I can't seem to get them to talk to each other. Both ports set to 1 but when I change a value parameter in the send actor, there's no message received in DMX Universe. I'm sure this is something really simple that I can see at the moment.
Thanks, for any help,
Andy
Folks, just a heads up that atemOSC has been updated, and is now available for both MacOS and for Windows.
It's no longer free: after 30 days you have to pay a $50 licence fee.

Just trying it out on Windows. Some small success with my limited OSC skillz.

Hi Everyone,
I'd love to be able to color code video/effect chains by changing the color of the actors involved. For example I could make all of the actors in video channel 1 blue and video channel 2 red. I've been trying to do to do a similar thing with background and while they are helpful, they are a little clunky and don't really fit with the way I build my patches. Here's a quick mock up of what I'm thinking about.
Hey all... I've been away from the forum for a spell so apologies if I've missed info on this one... It's long past due for a machine upgrade and I'm thinking about the new MacBook Pros with the M3 processor. Any thoughts on these re: Isadora?
thanks!
