Hi, I've talked about this before but I can't seem to solve the problem.
Some of my video files have fast moving scenes, If I load them into Blackmagic's simple "Media Express" software media player and outputting to a BM UltraStudio HD that is SDI to a video monitor, the videos play at 30fps without sputtering or dropping any frames, very smooth playing/looking video. I can use this same playback method with any of my computers Mac trash can, Mac mini, MacBook Pro laptop and the videos look smooth on all of them.
When I load those same video files into Isadora and use the the same BM UltraStudio HD for the output, the video isn't fluid. It sputters/dropping frames almost visually trying to keep up until the video scene is more static then it seems to catch up and looks good.
It's subtle, but once you see it you can't stop seeing it.
I've tried different hardware, USB-C to HDMI adapters, TrippleHead2go and BM UltraStudio, they all share the same video problem.
I've also tried converting the videos to many different codecs, HAP, ProRez 422 also LT, and H.264 and they all perform the same. I've also tried on the "movie player" changing the different playback AV, QT, DS, MS, and Performance vs. interaction.
Is there a video buffer I can increase? Maybe load them into RAM or something? Or does BM software talk to there own device in a different way.
Thanks.
Hi there,
We made an installation with 4 pico beamers (attached to a data path) and interactive stop-motion animation, with HAP video's that react to a mic/sound sensor.
Does anyone know if Isadora can run an interactive installation on a Mac mini M1chip or m2chip ?
https://www.apple.com/nl/mac-mini/
We've never used a Mac mini to run Isadora on and or not sure how this works without screen attached.
Just add another screen?
Another option is a MacBook Air M1 chip, it's for an installation and the organisation will buy a Mac mini or Mac ai.
We look forward to your reaction!
Here is the patch it needs to run Isadora patch
Hi There.
I know this is a covered topic but I can't get any of the solutions to work or I don't understand them. I need to sync 3 UHD (HAP codec) to 5.1 audio stream in a loop of about 10 minutes. There is alwats a random offset that is created either at the end of the playback or directly at the triggered start of the playback. A help?
Hey all
I'm building a patch that listens to audio input for a user defined amount of time and records the "db" as a value (0-100).
The audio input/microphone is "opened' with a gate actor each time and the max value is fed to a separate Hold Value actor - each time the gate is opened a new hold value is used. The gate is then closed, so the max volume over a user defined period of time is recorded.
In the current patch I've got 3 separate Hold Value actors, but this could go up to 10 or more. There will be a different external trigger (most likely an OSC signal) for each gate into hold value.
Is there an actor/setup that can then rank those values highest to lowest? Ideally I want the user to be able to see the highest value and which opened gate that corresponds to quickly - that value might then get fed elsewhere and presented as a 'winner'.
Hope that makes sense, any thoughts very welcome!

Hi folks, I'm running the OpenNI Tracker Depth Video into Chroma Key and layering a video into the dancer's silhouette. Then projecting that back on the dancer:
I'd like to mask the video, effectively blacking out sections so it doesn't cover the full body. Then I'd like to gradually take the mask(s) away until the full body is revealed. I can't quite figure out how to do this, and would appreciate any suggestions!
Hallo hallo,
I am trying to see if there is a way to make it a little bit easier to make captions that can be triggered manually.
These captions are the translations to some speeches that happen on stage and for this cannot be really timed like most of the plugins offered.
Until now I have been using a sequential trigger connected to each line of text placed into a trigger text. This is really not as flexible as I would because every time something changes I have to disconnect and reconnect all the inputs manually. Plus the sequential trigger has a limit of 31 input which normally is below what I need to cover a scene.
Does anyone have experience with making caption that needs to be triggered manually?
Thanks
Elena
I've got 6 old television monitors with coax or rca inputs that I want to act as separate stages. Any elegant or even inelegant ideas about how to do this? I've got a Triple Head as well as a DataPart Fx4 that I could put converters on the tv end but I'm guessing there will be problems with different monitor sizes? Though they're all old 640x480, just different sizes. Thanks!
Hello, is it possible to control a Christie's shutter control thru Isadora with an Artnet send actor ?
I can do it easily with Millumin on channel 3/ value 0 or 255 after unlocking the channel 1 but I don't attempt to send the right raw dmx order. In the node name, I see the Christie in the node name, my outputs seem to be ok...
I tried to ping FFFFFF and FFFF0 but it doesn't seem to work. Where do I do a mistake ?
Any advice ?
Thanks,
Fred
Hello,
I have a problem with a movie player actor. If I use:
1. timecode instead of percentages,
2. the loop option to "off",
3. and initialize position to 00:00:00:00/25,
the video won't start playing when I load the scene.. I think I see very quickly the loop end triggered for some reason.. Is there something false in what i'm doing or is this a bug?
I'm using the latest version of isadora in windows
Thank you!

Hi All,
I want to interface wireless dmx with Isadora - is anyone doing that already? If so, what is the interface, and what is the setup? I would love to hear about some experiences working with wireless DMX, particularly for outdoor events.
Best Wishes,
Russell
