Hello Izzy community.
Our school is purchasing a projector for large ( I mean large) building projection mapping, I wonder you give us any suggestion on the best possible option.
Cheers.

Hi all,
I'm breaking my head over the placement of the projector for a big scrim projection (10m wide 5 or 6m high). On a tight budget.
I don't want any "left over projection going trough the screen" to fall on the back wall that is 5m behind the scrim.
If I calculate this I have to put the projector high up and very steep down so I lose a lot of the projection area. (I won't be having this hight every time and we don't have a budget to have enough ansi lumens I think)
An other option is to put it closer but then I have a big trapezoid. (0.8 lens in example)
When I try with two projectors I see the same problems. (a bit less)
What am I missing?
Hi Forum - further to the info in Guru Session no17. and the WerkStatt 2016 IR tracking video, can anybody kindly advise if there is any hard and fast rule about 'when' to make the screen grab on the Freeze actor? For example, if a theatre show has 30 different lighting states that vary in intensity from each lighting state - is it therefore necessary (or advisable) to screen grab for each new lighting state or simply make one grab at the beginning of the show for all the different lighting states? Does that make sense?
Hi there:)
I am experimenting with how e.g. a heat map, that is created from another computer can manipulate something else during an installation.
So my question for anyone knowing about sending something to Isadora could tell me, if and how it is possible to send photo to Isadora, and then incorporate it in a patch?
What I mean is: There is a computer creating heatmaps over time. I want to take in this heat map, and e.g. use this to change the color of the lighting in the space. So my question is, how do I take in photos during an installation and get isadora to registrate this new photo in an actor?
Is this an option? Or do anyone have other Ideas?
Many thanks for any help or ideas:) Eva
PS: the light part is up and running:)
Hi,
I fell over this little thing, that seems easy to get used and not so expensive.

Did anyone use it with Isadora? I imagine it could be a very cool feature to use to access the dancefloor during a concert while controlling the visual surface:)
But I dont know if the setup allows that?
I will love to hear experiences:)

Hi there,
Looking for some general input on creating a video feedback effect for a music video. Shooting an electronic music video next week and experimenting with a few different projections for behind the band. I've looked at using the live capture for video and sound, and mixing them together with various actors like the dots actor to get a similar effect. But because my knowledge of actors is limited, I wanted to see if anyone here has some suggestions.
We're not married to the idea of the live capture video and sound, it's just generally the closest to aesthetic and vibe we've gotten. Here's a reference for the type of look we are hoping to achieve:
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks all!
Hello everyone!
Working on some simple playback with Isadora 3.2.6 and my frame rate seems to be stuck at 25FPS. I've fielded with system preferences but can't seem to get a smoother play back. Cycles are currently hitting 500. Not sure why it seems stuck at this limit!
If anyone can offer some advice I'd appreciate it.

Hello All, I need to upgrade my older MacBook Pro laptops to keep up with the programming I am doing. I'm also running my Isadora stages via syphon through MadMapper in order to map the stage rather than individual projectors. I often use a number of projectors in Isadora to create complex layered imagery. Mapping the "projectors" in these patches onto one stage is impossible. So for now this is the hack I've come up with
I'd like to be able to output at least 3 Isadora Stages to three physical projectors for my installations. I'd love to hear what experiences folks doing long term video installations have had with the new MacBook pros and whether there is a graphics card or configuration you recommend. I'm prepared to go "whole hog" but want to be reasonably sure it will all work. If anyone out there is also using MadMapper for their final mapping I'd love to hear your input as well. It would be so great if we could map the stages in Isadora-running both programs via syphon has complicated my life but also proven necessary.
Hey all,
I'm in a situation designing a show at a university that uses Watchout. I know nothing about Watchout, but I was hoping to design via Izzy. It's not a tremendously tough show but they don't want to recable or dismantle their Watchout system. I'll be honest -- nobody seems to know all that much about Watchout at the university so I'm speaking from a place of profound ignorance. I guess my question is: can Isadora be used "through" Watchout? As I understand it, there are multiple computers running multiple projectors via the Watchout dongle and they don't want to dismantle that...so is there a way that they can integrate? If it is possible, we'll have a Watchout programmer, so it won't be me doing it (thankfull). I searched the forum and all I found was something from 2015. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
