      Hi all,

updating this topic with a quick question about this CCTV setup. I would imagine it working this way :

CCTV > AHD to HDMI converter > HDMI input in Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle > USB input into computer

I supposed the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle is recognized as video source in Isadora, isn't it ?

Does anyone have some feedback on this kind of setup ?

Hi Russell, thank you very much. Both apps work fine, TouchOSC is easy to program, stable and reliable. GyrOSC works as well but the sensors are very sensitive even with the smoother at max.I was thinking of using it for motion captures the range of the Kinect and Orbbec sensors is very limited.

      Will keep you posted, Hendrik

Hi - this is a great tutorial, thank you.

All nicely working as you describe.  However, I can't find the calibration script for the MPU, even when selecting

Uno in the board menu.  Can you post the example code, or send me a copy please?

      Thanks

      @bonemap
Thanks a lot Russell for your detailed answer.

The CalDigit TB3 Mini Dock might introduced a glitch in the GPU management, so an OS clean install would tell if the official USB-C > HDMI apple adapter finally works (solo).
Otherwise the issue seems to come from the GPU or the motherboard...

@DillTheKraut, Russell succeeded to send video through OWC Dock and passive adapter, so an active mini-DP adapter is not always necessary.
Other video technicians told me that the official USB-C TB3 > mini-DP TB2 apple adapter works fine with all their TB2 video adapters.

      Best wishes.
      Clement

<p>@DusX Could our configuration for the Zotac Z-Box handle this?</p>

Yes, our Zotac systems are capable (nice portable gaming systems), as well the Intel Nut with and Vega is another option.
This is the current Zotac that is similar to our testing machines: https://www.zotac.com/us/produ...
A little larger is the MSI Trident 3.. I have used it for some shows and liked it a lot.

There are also these threads that includes examples of the SoundPlayer multichannel audio routing:

@bonemap bit off topic from GoPro but I have been using the newish pihq camera with c/cs lens mount https://www.raspberrypi.org/pr... with a raspberry pi to make hdmi cameras - very few lines of python code to get full screen hdmi out. There are pros and cons of course - lots of lens options, but fixed focus. Lots of camera options can be fiddled with in code. Not many more lines of code to make a time lapse camera, and very customisable.

I know you have a workaround, but from this code the suggestion in freds post is correct - the code sends the values as often as the board can - way faster than you need. Adding a small delay in the Arduino code should remove the need to reset the actor, and reduce the work you are asking the computer to do. If you add delay(10); just before the final bracket it would stop for 10 milliseconds each time, and you would only be sending the message slightly less than 100 times a second.

I will add, that you may be able to restructure some of your heavy User Actors, so that there is an light outer layer and an internal User Actor that contains a "User Actor On/Off" allowing the heavy part to be fully shut off when not in use, but the lighter outer level could still provide your preset save/recall functionality.
You pass the on/off thru from the outer most level of the user actor into shutdown the inner heavy part, and also use this state to route/bypass any data that needs to run through.

This is a quick example of the structure I am suggesting. (its just an example, and needs to be adjusted to the actual functionality you are encapsulating).
Using this method I have been able to create huge files with unbelievable amounts of functionality that can be turned on/off as needed.

      Hi David,

I don't know if it has a range of 50 ft but I use the OpenMV camera and do the tracking directly. The sensor is a FLIR Lepton 3.5 (160x120) with shutter and costs 199$; the camera is cheaper. For exterior you would have to make a box or something similar.

Thank you guys, so far! This is really a big help!  I will try and rebuild it. And maybe cut out the on off in the left hand, if it is even necessary...  I did try to take the on/off out at one point - but I will start trying to rebuild and see if I can get it to work again! Thanks for the support!!!

@Mark - what I can say right now is, that if the leap motion freezes - usually it happens for all the scenes and I have to restart my computer... but this time it was only this one - so I think it is another problem. but I will go through the comments so far and see if I can work it out:)

Great that you got this working. I've never even heard of that camera. Cool!

I had difficulty getting any of the tracking features such as body & skeleton.

What is the resolution of the sensor? It has to be 320x240 or 640x480 for the body tracking to work.

I think you should be able to find a 'FFGL Tile' plugin that may replace the MultiVid actor, depending on your exact usage.
Try the 'FFGL Tile' actor in the oficial FFGL bundle first: https://troikatronix.com/plugi...

      Hi,

PTZ cameras are one device option to look at. I am thinking perhaps the proliferation of gimbals is another - somewhat related device - that can be considered for Izzy plugin development. I have a DJI Ronin M and a Ronin S gimbal and just a quick comparison of cost suggest these possibly  provide good value and flexibility compared to the PTZ camera lineup - admittedly they are a BYO camera option. The PTZ cameras appears to have some shared protocol, but the diversity of gimbal makes and models are likely all proprietary. Still I would definitely use an Isadora Plugin that implemented gimbal control as an alternative to acquiring a PTZ camera. Specifically because the gimbal allows any number of camera types to be mounted and offer comparable functionality to PTZ.

      Just a thought.

      Best wishes

      @CitizenJoe

I wish I could say for sure what the video flow in your system is. Unfortunately it seems that this is one aspect of Windows machines that is upto the manufacturer, and isn't very standardized.
When you look at 'Setup multiple displays' in the nVidia control panel, are your displays shown under your nVidia gpu?
In my case, my Laptop Screen is NOT listed in the 'Setup multiple displays' section of the control panel (it is only configurable via the Intel video control panel).

I do find it a little strange that your external connections are shown as part of the Intel HD card.
Mine are shown within the nVidia card/block (in the PhysX section).

My testing hasn't shown any difference in performance between running Isadora on my internal Laptop Display or a External Display (Intel managed display VS nVidia managed display) assuming Isadora is setup to use the Dedicated GPU (otherwise things are unstable).

It seems that some video transfer is synced between the 2 gpus at all times.

@Fred , some work is being done in profiling and optimizing gpu usage on Windows.. so I am hopeful we will be seeing some improvements in the 'near' future 🙂
