Ive encountered a problem with QuickTime (probes) alpha files.
The image on the right from QuickTime Player as I would like to see the file.
The image on the right how it looks in the preview window of Isadora.
Ive encoded the files "after effects>media encoder" with a prores 4444 with alpha codec and the files do contain areas of graded alpha ( ie partially opaque).
Am I likely to get better results with another codec? Hap or one of the other probes 4444 codecs?
Interestingly the export window of media encoder shows a similar result but it looks fine in QuickTime Player

Hi,
Audio Unit (AU) plug-ins that appear as Audio Modules within the Mac version of Isadora are 'pulled-in' from the available set provided by the MacOS. They include valuable tools such as AUSoundInput, AUGraphicEQ and AUAudioDeviceOutput.
Once these modules are patched with an audio stream, you can double-click the module to access a control pop-up interface. Be careful, though! Isadora does not develop these modules, and compatibility and interface issues require a modicum of know-how AND patience.
There are also third-party Audio Unit plugins that can be installed. A good starting place if you want to experiment with more AU audio effects is the FREE bundle available from: Melda
Here is a preview of their MNoiseGenerator being modulated by active inputs from an Isadora patch...
Has anyone had issues moving HAP files from mac to windows? Mostly it works fine, but I have issues with random media files. There will be one or two that just don't work or are full of jitter.
For one project, it happened with files I had created in artmatic rendered in ProRes then converted to HAP, which were full of jitter. I even tried rendering out avi then converting to HAP, same issue.
On the current project, a couple of files pulled from youtube and prelinger, then converted to HAP are just digital static.
All files play just fine on my M1 Macbook. The issue is when I move the project to the client's windows machine. Cant troubleshoot on the clients machine currently because we are on different continents, but wanted to see if anyone else has this issue...
Hey all,
I have a show tomorrow and I just had to transfer my .izz file to a new machine and I'm running into fatal problems. The show runs fine around 10-15% load until it gets to a scene with some Grapher actors. The load shoots up to 40-48% load, which should be fine, but the stage output completely freezes. Isadora still runs and I can see triggers going off but the visual output is frozen! What is odd is that when I go to the scene individually, it runs fine around 8%. It's only during the show that it crashes every single time. Does anyone have any clue what's happening here and how I can fix it? I have reset my preferences and made sure my machine is performing at top capacity! For your reference my machine is a Windows 11 Laptop with an Intel Core i7 10th gen processor.
Thank you so much!
Hey all! I am trying to randomly play from a collection of videos, but I don't want to repeat a previously played video. I can use the Random, Limit-Scale Value, and Float to Integer to create the random video selection, but how can I create a patch that won't repeat a number? Or is there another way to accomplish this? Thanks for any thoughts!
Would it be possible to have audio AU plugins open their respective guis somehow? its impossible to use many of the plugins through value manipulation only. every other app i use that can load AU's can launch their gui's. thanks
Very occasionally, I've had scenes switch places on me in a patch without any input form me. I thought it was me doing something by mistake, but on this show it's happened to me and the other operator/programmer, as well. It appears to be something to do with scrolling left and right, or perhaps to do with using the arrow keys to move between scenes...
I wonder if anyone else has had this experience?
Isadora v3.2.6 on Macbook Pro16" 2019; Ventura 13.4.1
Thanks,
Hugh
was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or ideas of how i can copy a saved snapshot from one saved patch to another identical patch?

Hello,
I'm pretty new to Isadora, so I am just confused:
I have a useractor with a projector actor inside (for the same projection mapping in diffrent scenes) and a user input for the layer property.
In the scene I layer some audio reactive shapes and a bit of text over video. One shape and the text have both a motion blur actor to make their animation more interessting looking.
No the problem: When I was building it, everything looked as I wanted. But on renenter of the scene the motion blur actor seems to mess up the transparency (or alpha, idk how isadora is handling this) of the layers. Everything is non-transparent for at least a few seconds so the layers underneth it are not showing anymore... Why is that so? It feels very counter intuitiv. I am confused. Is there a way around that? Do I understand the layers-thing right? Help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Max
How do I set up a watch folder?
Ive come back to Izzy after a long break and......
I would like to load files into a folder that are then automatically loaded into a specified media bin. Ive poked around a bit and found Jamie Griffiths apple script solution. But references to this seem to go back to 2012 and dont seem to be relevant to current OS. Surely there is a simple way to do this?
Im running izzy on an M1 Mac mini, about 2 years old.
Any leads greatly appreciated.
